The speaker on my Macchiato seems really quiet. I did not expect it to be very loud, but I have to hold it up to my ear to hear anything. Line out works fine. Ideas?
The speaker volume on mine is soft but plenty loud enough to hear witout having to hold it up to my ear.
Is it in a case and if so is the speaker grill blocked?
Perhaps the speaker is bad, or is soldered incorrectly or in backwards/upsidedown (reversed polarity)?

Two things to check: Is the OCTAVE knob way down low, to the left? The speaker cannot reproduce sounds in the lowest register. You might feel it vibrate, but you won’t hear much. Next, is the CUTOFF all the way down (left)? If so, crank it around to the right. With the cutoff frequency set very low, the low pass filter cuts off most of the signal — hence quiet output!
